A gentle introduction to programming using C#

Hopefully the first in series of sessions aimed at supporting the use of C# and .Net at the Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt.

• Introduction to Visual C# 2010: Say hello to the editor, compiler and debugger!
• Structure of a C# program
• First steps in programming
• Some basic problem solving using C#
• Open discussion

Who is it aimed at?
• People with little to no programming experience
• Experience in using a computer is assumed, along with basic mathematics

What to bring?
• A laptop (one per pair is also fine) running Microsoft Windows XP, Vista or 7 with Microsoft Visual C# 2010 Express installed. This free download can be obtained from http://www.microsoft.com/express/Downloads/#2010-Visual-CS
