The Parent-Child-Room for learning, playing and relaxing.

Studying while with child is a particular challenge. Thus, the ÖH Family Room offers the opportunity to retreat and enjoy special moments between you and your child. The parent-child-room is located in a calm side alley on the backside of the mensa building. Here you can find anything that you’ll need to harmoniously combine your studies and family life.

The ÖH Family Room – a place for your needs.The partent-child-room has been designed with a lot of love to facilitate daily life on campus with a child. You can expect:

  • A cosy crib for restful sleep.
  • A sofa for relaxed cuddling breaks.
  • Two PC-workstations, from which you can always keep an eye on your young.
  • Many toys and children’s books that offer both fun and learning opportunities.
  • Practical equipment like a kettle, changing table, changing supplies, a washing maschine, a dryer and toilets.

The Kids’ Clothing Bin – Share, Support, and Be Sustainable.

The Kids’ Clothing Bin is a service offered by the ÖH Klagenfurt for student parents. Here you’ll find well-preserved children’s clothing that you can take home for free—it’s easy if you use the ÖH Family Room or attend events in the ÖH Living Room.
You can not only take clothes, but also donate well-preserved items yourself. We accept children’s clothing that is clean and in very good condition. Donations can be easily dropped off at the ÖH ServiceCenter.

Together, we’re creating a supportive resource for students with children—thank you for participating!

The ÖH Family Room is the ideal space to play and learn and allows you to continue your studies while also experiencing precious moments with your child.

Here’s how to book the ÖH family room: quick and easy.

  1. Book an appointment: Select your preferred time slot in the calendar and book it. You will receive a confirmation email. Bookings are not available during periods when classes are not in session.
  2. Pick up your key: Pick up your key at the ÖH ServiceCenter during business hours and sign the terms of use (one-time only).
  3. Enjoy family time: Use the ÖH family room however you like. The entrance to the ÖH family room is located at the back of the dining hall building.
  4. Returning the key: Please leave the parent-child room clean after your visit and lock the door. Return the key to the ÖH ServiceCenter; if it is already closed, you can also return it to the doorman.
